Why work with me?

I'm Shaun Austin, and at 15 I left home, struggling with depression, alcohol, and drug use. After hitting rock bottom, I made a decision to turn my life around.


I went back to finish high school and earned a place in the Australian Army, where I served as an Engineering Officer, leading over 60 soldiers.

I completed a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s in Project Management, and became a Chartered Professional Engineer in both Systems and Mechanical disciplines. I even reached a personal dream, working on cutting-edge robotics and autonomous systems.

But what I longed for wasn’t just technical mastery.
It was meaningful human connection.
It was a return to purpose.

Leading soldiers through PTSD, identity crises, and major transitions left a lasting mark. It made me realise that the work I found most meaningful wasn’t with machines, but with people.
So I made the shift.

I left my dream engineering role, completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, earned an international coaching certification, and wrote a bestselling book exploring my own journey of identity loss and healing after military service.

Now based in Spain, I coach founders, CEOs, and leaders from across the world through their own turning points, drawing on every part of my journey.


What I offer is not performance coaching, or everyday executive coaching, this is deep work, grounded in psychology, neuroscience, and state of the art coaching methods.


I bring a unique combination of my military and technical careers, with studies in psychology and my own lived experience, to offer a grounded and tested method to create radical shifts.
